Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 1/4 cups brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Zest of 1 lemon

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Lemon juice for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract and lemon zest.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in Strawberries: Gently fold in the chopped strawberries until evenly distributed in the batter.

Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the blondies are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool and Serve: Let the blondies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cool, you can dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with lemon juice for added flavor if desired.

Slice and Enjoy: Cut the blondies into squares and serve. These delightful treats are perfect for gatherings or an afternoon snack!
