Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

1 teaspoon Szechuan peppercorns

1 tablespoon chili paste (adjust to taste)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

In a bowl, marinate the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch for about 20 minutes. This will tenderize the meat.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions, red and green bell peppers, garlic, ginger, and Szechuan peppercorns. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Return the cooked steak to the skillet. Add the chili paste and stir everything together, ensuring the steak and vegetables are well coated. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
