Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons sriracha (adjust for spice preference)

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated

1 cup bell peppers, diced (red, yellow, or orange for color)

1 cup snap peas or snow peas, trimmed

2 green onions, sliced

1 cup cooked jasmine or brown rice

Sesame seeds for garnish

Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Rice: Cook your jasmine or brown rice according to package instructions. This can generally be done while you prepare the chicken, allowing for efficient use of time.

Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground chicken and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula (about 5-7 minutes).

Add Aromatics: Once the chicken is browned, stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and diced bell peppers. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the peppers begin to soften.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sriracha, and hoisin sauce. Pour this mixture over the chicken and vegetable mixture. Stir well to coat everything evenly, cooking for another 2 minutes.

Incorporate Peas: Add the snap peas or snow peas to the skillet. Toss gently to combine and cook for 1-2 more minutes until the peas are bright green and tender-crisp.

Serve: In serving bowls, layer the cooked rice, followed by the firecracker ground chicken mixture. Top with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro, if desired.

Enjoy: Dig in and enjoy your delicious, spicy Firecracker Ground Chicken Bowl!
