Ingredients

1 lb (450g) fresh salmon fillet, skin removed

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon paprika

1/4 cup honey

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for frying)

1 tablespoon chopped green onions (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Salmon: Cut the salmon fillet into bite-sized pieces, about 1-inch cubes. Pat them dry with a paper towel to ensure they are moisture-free.

Coating Mixture: In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well.

Coat the Salmon: Dredge each piece of salmon in the coating mixture, ensuring an even coat. Shake off any excess flour and cornstarch.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

Fry the Salmon: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the coated salmon bites in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer the cooked bits to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Toss in Sauce: Once all salmon bites are cooked, return them to the skillet. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the crispy salmon and gently toss to coat evenly.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately on a platter with toothpicks if desired, for a fun finger food option.
