Ingredients

500g beef flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

1 cup cornstarch

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 onion, thinly sliced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, minced

2 teaspoons sesame oil

Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.

Coat the Beef: In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge each slice of marinated beef in the cornstarch mixture until fully coated.

Fry the Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan or wok over medium-high heat. Fry the coated beef in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together sweet chili sauce, rice vinegar, and hoisin sauce. Set aside.

Sauté Vegetables: In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed. Sauté onion, bell peppers, minced garlic, and ginger over medium heat until just tender, about 3-4 minutes.

Combine Everything: Lower the heat, add the crispy beef back into the pan with sautéed vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and toss everything to coat evenly. Drizzle with sesame oil.

Serve: Transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Pair with steamed rice or noodles.
