Ingredients

1 cup fresh blueberries

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

4 cups cold water

Lemon slices and additional blueberries for garnish

Ice cubes

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and set aside to cool, creating a simple syrup.

In a blender, combine the fresh blueberries with 1 cup of cold water. Blend until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing gently with a spatula to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the solids.

Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the cooled simple syrup to the blueberry juice in the pitcher. Pour in the remaining 3 cups of cold water and stir well to combine all the ingredients.

Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar or water if needed.

Chill the blueberry lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the blueberry lemonade over the ice, and garnish with lemon slices and a few whole blueberries.
