Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

1 red bell pepper, finely chopped

1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped

¼ cup green onions, chopped (plus more for garnish)

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon sriracha sauce (optional, for heat)

1 head of iceberg or butter lettuce, leaves separated

Chopped peanuts or cashews for garnish

Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions

Cook the beef: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Sauté the aromatics: Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add veggies: Stir in the chopped red bell pepper and mushrooms, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until they’re tender.

Season the mixture: Add in the green onions, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sriracha (if using). Mix well and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Assemble the wraps: Take a lettuce leaf and spoon a generous amount of the beef mixture into the center.

Garnish: Top with chopped peanuts or cashews and fresh cilantro leaves for added crunch and flavor.

Serve: Serve immediately while warm, allowing guests to create their own wraps.
