Ingredients

For the Wonton Tacos:

20 wonton wrappers

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

For the Chicken Filling:

1 lb ground chicken

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1/2 cup green onions, chopped

1/2 red bell pepper, finely diced

1/2 cup shredded carrots

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Garnish:

Fresh cilantro leaves

Sriracha sauce (optional, for heat)

Lime wedges

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground chicken. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat.

Flavor the Chicken: Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until well combined.

Add Vegetables: Mix in the chopped green onions, red bell pepper, and shredded carrots. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 2 minutes to soften the veggies. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Prepare Wonton Wrappers: Preheat oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium-high heat. Take each wonton wrapper and gently fold it over into a taco shape (like a ā€œUā€), pinching the corners to seal. You can use a bit of water to help seal them if necessary.

Fry the Tacos: Carefully add the wonton wrappers to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the crispy wontons to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

Assemble Tacos: Once the wontons are crispy and cool, fill each taco shell with the chicken filling. Top with fresh cilantro leaves and, if desired, drizzle with sriracha sauce and serve with lime wedges on the side.
